Behind the Label: Château Hyon La Fleur

Château Hyon la Fleur is a tiny, family-run Saint-Émilion Grand Cru with just 2.55 hectares, yet it punches well above its weight. Run by the Berrouet family, the vineyard is mostly Merlot with a touch of Cabernet Franc, planted on limestone soils with 40-year-old vines. Each parcel is vinified separately and aged in 75% new oak, giving the wines elegant aromas of red berries and florals, a smooth texture, and a long, balanced finish. With only 15,000 bottles a year, it’s a rare, carefully crafted right-bank gem that captures the charm and finesse of Saint-Émilion in every sip.
