This whisky opens with typical Speyside notes of sweet oak, apples and pears, fresh hay, baking spice, and slight barrel char. The palate is full of toasted, biscuity malt flavours, accompanied by clear honey, tinned peaches, dried fruit, and a faint hint of charcoaled oak. The finish is long, with baking spices, cut hay, and oak lasting long. A superbly approachable blend, with enough complexity for even the most seasoned of whisky drinkers. Great stuff from Dewar’s.
