Tasting Notes

The palate is fruity, juicy, well-balanced and offers a good definition, an acidulous frame and suavity. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy/acidulous cassis, Boysen berry, small notes of wild raspberry associated with touches of small red berries as well as hints of violet, cornflower, nutmeg, toasted as well as hints of caramelization. Good length.

Behind the Label: Château La Loubière

A few kilometers from Bordeaux, on the hills north of the Entre-Deux-Mers, our family has been cultivating the vines of Château La Loubière since 1837. This cru, whose name comes from Occitan and means “the land of wolves,” is the family wine we grew up with, generation after generation: a Bordeaux red that is both powerful and charming. When we took over the estate from our parents and grandparents in 2015, we aimed to give it greater breadth and finesse. Gradually, we expanded the vineyard and began careful selection work, guided by a refined understanding of our terroirs, mostly composed of ancient clay and sand.
